Bikl was created by chance . In his spare time, Bert is an enthusiastic allotment gardener. One day he arrived at Arend with a jar of home-grown pickles. Arend ate them gratefully – they were much tastier than the sweet stuff from the supermarket. But he did wonder why Bert still used those clumsy jars that are so difficult to open.

And why did Bert ferment his cabbage, but not his pickles? Because pickles are delicious pickled with real vinegar and fresh herbs. But if you ferment them, you get a taste explosion. Moreover, they remain nice and crunchy. In America and Eastern Europe they have known this for a long time.
